Waverly Community Unit School District #6 is seeking a dependable, hard-working individual to join our custodial team as an evening janitor at Waverly Elementary School. This position plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas

Empty trash and recycling containers

Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors

Sanitize surfaces and maintain restrooms

Set up and clean up for school events and activities as needed

Ensure building security by locking doors and checking alarms at the end of shift

Report any maintenance or safety issues to the head custodian or administration

Paid holidays, personal days, sick days and vacation days

If the employee decides to take district provided health insurance, they will receive $500/month towards insurance.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Prior custodial or maintenance experience is a plus

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

Must pass a background check and meet all state employment requirements

$17.50 / hour
